Part of making a lifestyle change is determining where you are in the process. Use this quick guide to help identify your current stage in the process. What steps need to be taken in order to get you where you want to be?

1. PreContemplation
- no intention to change.
- no exercise nor intent within 6 months.
NEED: education

2. Contemplation
- no exercise.
- intend to change within 6 months.
NEED: verification

3. Preparation
- occasional exercise.
- plan regular exercise within 1 month.
NEED: realistic goals and support

4. Action
- not yet exercised for 6 months.
NEED: plan for obstacles

5. Maintenance
- consistent exercise past 6+ months.
NEED: support and planned change
